It takes a village…

There is so much work that goes into a design project. Even though we all focus on the end goal, where a project starts is equally important. A recent Instagram post of a Before-After project reminded me how fun it is to compare both side-by-side. Since we designers like to show only pretty images on our websites, I thought hey, why not use the blog to show both?! Here are a few of my favorite transformations…

Usually I love a fireplace, but sometimes they’re just in the worst location. In this project, the heavy brick fireplace was blocking a fantastic view so we demolished it and opened up the Family Room with a wall of glass sliders…

Speaking of wrong locations, this original cottage kitchen was almost charming (despite its tiny size) but when you factored in the large, wasted space behind it, we had no choice but to move the kitchen to the back of the house and open up the front living/dining spaces…

I plan to reveal more of these fun Before-After photos both on the blog and on Instagram, so stay tuned!
