Summer Fun in Freesia

It has been toasty warm in the Bay Area this past week…both in the city, where my office is, and in the East Bay, where I live.  Hot days always make me think of warm colors like this palette of beautiful sunny yellows inspired by the Pantone color “Freesia”, which was declared one of the ten Pantone Spring/Summer 2014 Colors.  It’s bright, citrusy hue breathes vibrant sophistication and fun into interiors, accessories, and fashion.

Inspired by freesia flowers, this hue embodies the brightness and fun of the summer season.  We envision Freesia as a statement-making pop of color for interiors.  Pick a fun pillow fabric with bright yellow to contrast with a neutral sofa, or even paint kitchen barstools in the electric color.  We also love the idea of an all white kitchen with a Freesia backsplash – sure to turn heads and create interest in an otherwise neutral space.

Our Freesia color board displays inspiration for how to use this color in both outfits, interiors, and accessories.  Never be afraid to mix bright color with otherwise neutral palettes, or be daring and pair it with other bright hues!

I love the way yellow pairs with both warm and cool colors so effortlessly…it looks great with cooler tones like grey and blues, and is also gorgeous with golds and sandy colors.  (On a personal note, I’m lusting after the yellow and white chevron iPhone case in the middle…so darn cute!)
