Shopping for the home in New York

I was in New York this past week for a mix of business and pleasure and I thought I’d share some of my favorite home furnishings stops in the Big Apple.

First up, a trip to Manhattan would never be complete without a stop at ABC Carpet & Home.  They have great area rugs and decorative accessories…

I loved this display of eclectic white china…so simple and beautiful!

Next up was Ochre for their fabulous furniture and lighting…

I have used several light fixtures from Ochre for recent projects and they truly “make the room”.

Continuing my walk through SoHo, I stopped in Canvas, which is a sister store to Ochre that focuses on ceramics and accessories.  I fell in love with this dinnerware, but decided the small Dauville Gold Glazed Bowl would be a better choice for my carry-on luggage…

To round out the excess of consumerism, I walked down to the World Trade Center to visit the museum and memorial…wow, amazing to see so much progress since my last visit!  So inspiring to see monumental architecture and landscaping in honor of those we lost over a decade ago…

Until next time New York!
