A sofa is one of the most important pieces of furniture in your home. It’s where you watch TV, entertain guests, play games as a family and maybe even take the occasional catnap. So I highly recommend investing in a quality sofa that is made to withstand near constant use. Look for good construction (kiln-dried hardwood frame and cushions constructed of either 8-way hand-tied springs or medium-density foam with a down/feather or Dacron wrap. You’re not expected to be an expert, so just ask your designer or salesperson what the sofa is made of. To top it off, select a durable fabric or leather for a solid, long-lasting piece of furniture that you and your family will enjoy for many years to come.
Room and Board is one of my favorite retailers because they produce high-quality furniture that is made in the USA, they have a great selection of customizable fabrics and leathers, and their customer service is worth double their prices. They will make sure you get exactly what you want and if anything goes wrong, they will actually fix or replace the piece…even years down the road.
Right now I am loving Room and Board’s “Emory” sofa, which I would pair with oversized accent pillows in a fabulous print.
Pearson delivers quality upholstery at reasonable prices and I love this 2975-2 sofa with a classic, English rolled arm and optional skirted bottom. It’s a timeless sofa that screams elegance.
A. Rudin is a high-end trade-only company that is well known in the industry for top quality furniture manufactured in Los Angeles. Their “2498” sofa sports one of my favorite features, a T-cushion on the seat, and I have to warn you, if you sit in this, you’ll never want to get up!
